Zombies and bats (Halloween makeup and nails)

Hey Beauties!

Today's post is one of those where I share with you, what I have done on others. My friend Sabina from Sabina's little happy place asked me if I would do some sort of Halloween makeup for her and her boyfriend. Of course I said yes. I don't get many opportunities of people letting me touch their face :). My cousin also asked me to make her some makeup for Halloween. Both looks are different, one is creepy and ugly Halloween makeup and other is more on a pretty side. I also made a last minute manicure for my cousin, which actually looked very cute.

If you want Halloween look that can not go wrong, try zombie. It's so fun, because you get to be messy and do everything opposite of when you're doing your makeup. Instead of covering dark circles, your drawing them one. And as some of YouTubers would say, when everything else fails, just use a lot of fake blood :). I have watched a few videos and decided to make some wounds and a very "rested" face for my two zombies.

The wounds were made with tissue paper and Mod Podge. Layering and layering, then cutting it and filling it with fake blood, lipsticks and eyeliner. I know it's not the most professional, but I think it still looked kinda cool.

Sabina was also made to look like she was dragged on one side.

My cousin wore this look to her work, so we went more subtle, prettier and convenient. She wanted a smoky eye and bats on eyes. The smoky eye went from black to redish brown to red in the crease. Then I drew some bats with an eyeliner. Paired it all with a red lip and blond wig. Me and my aunt agreed that she looked like a doll. For someone who never wears makeup, or very little, the red lip and heavy eye makeup, were a big change.

Before, we also did a little Halloween nail art. Do you remember those cartoons, where there's a little tunnel and all of the sudden you see a lot of eyes? Then a whole flock of bats flies out of the tunnel. That is what this nail art was supposed to be. It's seriously one of the easiest nail designs ever. I painted black polish on all the nails. Then I used dotting tool to put on two white dots. Then I used smaller dotting tool to add another two black dots inside the white dots and that's it. Easy and really cute.

Thank you guys for letting me play with your face :). To the next year!:)

What were you for Halloween?

Review: MAC Patisserie and Velvet Teddy lipsticks, Pinch Me blush and Pro Longwear Concealer (NC15)

Hey Beauties!

Finally took all the photos and wore all the product that I mentioned buying in this post. I've only got two concealers and one lipstick from Mac, so I was very happy to expend my Mac collection. If there's one range of products that I love about Mac, it's definitely their lipstick. They're worth investing in.

I chose one of the very popular Mac shades and that is Patisserie. It's one of those colors that would suit pretty much anyone. If you know me, you know I really don't like pink lipsticks. This is the perfect mix of pink, orange and brown. I don't know how else to describe this shade, because it really is that mix of all those shades. Perfect for everyday wear. It also has tiny shimmer in it, which looks like it's gold. It's a luster finish, which means nice pigmentation with shine - perfect for me. Not drying at all. If you want to get one lipstick from Mac, I highly recommend this one.

It contains 3 grams of lipstick and costs 19.95€.

The next shade I decided to get is Velvet Teddy. It's supposedly the lipstick that Kyle Jenner has been wearing, while bringing back the 90s lip trends of brown lipsticks. I've always loved brown lipsticks, so this one was not a surprise in any way. It's warm orange based brown, which looks pretty dark on me. It could be someones nude shade, but my skin is too light for that. It's a matte finish, which means really pigmented and much more long lasting. I love the fact that it doesn't dry out my lips. All of the Mac lipsticks that I have are a joy to wear. I don't even feel like I have anything on. This is the shade for those, who also like brown lipsticks, but it may not be for everyone.

It contains 3 grams of lipstick and costs 19.95€.

Both lipsticks have a very nice soft vanilla smell. I love it.

I also decided to get one of the blushes. Unfortunately most of them were sold out, but I still decided on the shade that it's very my kind of blush shade and that I know I'll be wearing a lot. I choose the Sheertone Blush in the shade Pinch Me. Sheertone finish is supposed to a more sheer formula, which can be build up. It doesn't have any shimmer in it, but it also doesn't look absolutely matte on the skin. It has a certain sheen to it. The shade is a mix of orange coral and dusty rose. It's a really pretty wearable shade. It would appeal to anyone who likes orange based blushes. It's super velvet on the touch and still pigmented enough. No fall out.

It contains 6 grams of blush and it cost me 22.95€.

I already have Pro Longwear in NC20, but it's way too dark for me, so I decided to purchase lighter shade - NC15. It's perfect for my winter fair skin. Now, it's still a little too light. It has pump and it's pretty creamy and thick. It dries to a matte velvet finish. I do find that this goes into the lines, if you're skin is more on the dry side. But I like the fact that it's medium to full coverage. It's also very long lasting and doesn't move at all, once it dries.

It contains 9 ml of product and costs 18.95€.

Here are the swatches in in the shadow and on direct sun. From left to right: Mac Pro Logwear concealer in NC15, Mac lipstick Patisserie, Mac lipstick Velvet Teddy and Mac Sheertone Blush in Pinch Me.

What is your favorite MAC product? So, that I know what to look for, the next time I get a chance:).

L'Oreal Super Liner Perfect Slim eyeliner (Intense Black)

Hey Beauties!

This is one of my favorite eyeliners. I've been using it for quite a while and I love how easy it is. It's the L'Oreal Super Liner Perfect Slim eye liner in Intense Black. I've used L'Oreal Super Liner Ultra Precision eyeliner and Maybelline Master Precise liquid eyeliner before and you can read how I liked these. I am always searching for better eyeliner and right now, it's this Super Liner.

I actually don't know how much of the product is in it, but it costs around 9€, but I got it for 7.72€ on sale. I've had it since the mid of August and it still has a lot of product in it. I've been using it almost every day.

It's the usual felt tip eyeliner with a sponge tip. Black plastic pencil that has a nice secure top. I think the tip is pretty thin, although it's never as thin as on the brush eyeliners. The tip gets a bit less pointy after time, but nothing too bad. It has enough product, although it sometimes doesn't penetrate all the way through the end to the very tip of it.

The shade is called Intense Black and it's definitely black. Not as intense as with the liquid liners, but still a very good black. As you may see in the photos below, it is pretty precise. I don't think you can get a really thin line, after a while, because like I said, the tip is not saturated enough with the product, but you can definitely create a beautiful fairly thin line

The thing that bothers me is, the more you go over the line, the more you smudge the intensity. If you apply one layer and then try to go over it with a bit more pressure, the result is concentration of the eyeliner color on the edges of the line, but the middle get's thinner in opaqueness. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. I guess you need to go over to get the full color of it and try not to press it down too much, while doing it, not to ruin the previous line.

The formula is pretty fast drying. I will say this will smudge if you rub it or have hooded eyelids and on the lids creamy eyeshadow. I have experienced that with Maybelline Color Tattoos and this liner. The liner transferred to the top of my lid. Better to be used with powders than cream eyeshadows.

All that said, it is a very practical eyeliner. It's very easy to create the line and it dries fairly quick. I still use it in my everyday makeup and love it. Just wish the shade would be a bit bolder and more pigmented, but that would probably be better achieved with liquid eyeliners, which don't usually come in those very practical pencil shapes.

Review: Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner

Hey Beauties!

I've had this exfoliating toner for a while, but didn't know how to properly describe it. It's hard for me to write a review of skin care products, because I can only write about how it feels on the skin. The long term benefits are harder to spot, especially because of the so many other products that I use with this one.

You may have been hearing a lot about the chemical exfoliation. It's supposed to be a lot better than the physical exfoliation. Physical exfoliators are usually those that contain little beads that scrub your skin surface to get rid of the dead cells. Apparently those beads can actually damage your skin surface. That's why it's better to use chemical exfoliators, which remove dead skin cells with the help of acids, therefore chemicals. I decided to also purchase one of these, but because I have a very sensitive skin, I didn't want any harsh reactions. I decided to get the Clarins Gentle Exfoliator, because I have heard a lot of good things about it. The word gentle was the one that drove me to it in the first place.

The packaging is plastic with a screw on top. It's very practical. There's also a little hole through which you can control how much of the product you want. I usually put in on a cotton pad and have never had the problem of too much coming out.

There's 125 ml of product and I bought it for 20.55£, approximately 26€

Here are ingredients for those who are interested.

It's a liquid and it smells really nice. It's sort of a subtle clean a slightly sweet smell. Nothing too strong or too sweet. Just a nice relaxing smell in my opinion.

It's supposed to be gentle and refreshing exfoliating lotion that lifts impurities that dull the complexion to deliver soft, smooth, brighter-looking skin. It says to use it one to two times a week. It also contains aplha hydroxy acid (AHA), so using a sunscreen after using this, is an essential. Because those acids can increase the possibility of a sunburn.

I can say that it's definitely a gentle exfoliator. I've heard that exfoliators with harsher acids can tingle on the skin, but this one doesn't do anything at all. No burning, no tingling, no bad irritations. It's definitely a good chemical exfoliator for those with sensitive skin. I could do without the perfume, but that would be asking too much from most skin care companies. Sometimes I get a few red patches and I assume it's the perfume that's the cause. So.. extremely sensitive skins - probably not the best to be used in times of irritated skin.

I can't say if it brightens up the skin. My skin does feels very soft and very smooth. This tells me that it probably does remove the dead sells. The pores are slightly smaller, but the effect doesn't last all day. The skin also feels nourished and not dry at all, after using it. I tend to use it one to two times a week, although I know some people use those every single day. I also feel that it does help a little with the pimples and other impurities. It helps to dry them out faster.

I have to say, it's not something that I would be head over heels. It's a good exfoliator and I like that it makes my skin smooth. I do feel that this is a very good version for me, because it's gentle enough, but it does exfoliate nicely as well. It's definitely on the expensive side, but I only use it two times a week, so this will last me ages. I guess I am just not that excited about it. You can also read what Mateja think about it here. She seems to have seen more benefits with this product.

Makeup and Ikea haul

Hey Beauties!

I've never done a haul before, so this is a first. Because I was never buying a lot of stuff at once, I never felt the need to show what I bought. This Saturday me and my boyfriend went to Seiersberg and Graz in Austria, so I did get a few more things than I normally buy. I will make a detailed reviews for all the products in the future. You can also expect my makeup organisation post, because I did get a few things for that specific purpose in Ikea.

First I went in Douglas to buy some MAC and NYX products. Online I also saw that they had Zoeva brushes, but they didn't have them in the store. I was disappointed, because I really wanted to buy the brushes without the additional postage that comes with ordering them online.

From MAC I bought two lipsticks, one concealer and because I had that Zoeva-leftover-money I also bought one blush.

It's a Sheertone Blush in shade Pinch Me. In the pan it looks like a mauve shade, but it's actually a really nice sort of orange pink red. I can't explain it. It's a very natural matte shade. I wanted something that I can wear again an again. Very versatile and natural.

Price: 22.95€ click

I also got lipstick in the shade Patisserie, which has a luster finish. It's a very well known shade, that is a nice mixture of pink, brown and peach. Also a very wearable my lips but better shade. I like that it's not typically pink, but looks more brown based on me.

Price: 19.95€ click

The next lipstick I bought is Velvet Teddy, which has a matte finish. I admit, I'm loving the 90s trend of brown lipsticks that is coming back this season. I guess you may have seen Kyle Jenner rocking this MAC Velvet Teddy lipstick on daily occasions. I loved the shade on her and since I love brown lipsticks in general, I decided to get it. It's beautiful warm peach based brown, that would be my lips but better shade for darker skin tones. On me it's pretty dark.

Price: 19.95€ click

I also got Pro Longewear Concealer in NC15. A while ago, I bought NC20, which is way too dark for me. I admit, I didn't like it under the eyes, but I do love the medium to full coverage that it gives every else on the face. So I decided to buy lighter shade and maybe mix it with the darker shade for the summer.

Price: 18.95€ click

Douglas also had NYX products. Since I also can't get these in my country, I was very excited. I really wanted their blush in Taupe, but of course it was sold out. Such a shame. I saw their butter glosses and bought one. I did hope to find their matte versions of lip glosses, but no luck.

I got one of the NYX Matte lipsticks in the shade Alabama, which is a beautiful dark red. I needed something like this for this fall.

Price: 7.45€ click

I also got Butter Gloss in the shade Apple Strudel. Decision was pretty hard, because all of the lip glosses looked very pink and I am not a fan of pink. So, I went for the most peachy shade among them. It still looks a bit too pink for my taste. But hey, at least I got one. Maybe I'll find a use of layering it over some lipsticks.

Price: 6.95€ click

I also checked out their Müller, because I thought they must have some more products than we have in our country. I was right.

I also saw that they have the Color Show range of nail polishes and got two shades for fall. One is called 549 Midnight Taupe. Names Maybelline? How refreshing to see:). It's a basic taupe shade.

Price: 2.39€

I also got it in the shade 677 Blackout, which is a regular black shade.

Price: 2.39€

You may know I'm obsessed with Maybelline Color Tattoos. When I saw the golden shade called 05-Eternal Gold, I got it. It's a beautiful a bit too much yellow based gold shade. I hope the formula is just as good as other shimmery tattoos.

Price: 6.39€

I also thought that there will be The Body Shop, but it was closed. Damn you. I was so excited for nothing. Maybe next time..

You can not go to Graz and not stop at Ikea. This was only my second time in Ikea, so I was excited. The problem was, that we got their a bit late, so a lot of quick browsing and walking was involved in the process. I need a whole day, to see it all and process it. I did have a list of things I wanted and I actually found it all.

This is a three piece sort of organizational insert for drawers. I am planing to keep my makeup in this.

Price: 9.99€ (9, 15$) click

Those are the same things, but a bit cheaper and have only two departments. I am also planing to use this to organize my makeup in the drawers.

Price: 0.99€ (0.80£, 1.99$) click

I also got a table mirror, which is a lot larger than I expected. I guess I'll be able to do my makeup and actually see all of it in one mirror. Yey for me :).

Price: 14.99€ (15£, 14.99$) click

Those were some really cheap thin clothes hangers. I couldn't resist.

Price: 0.79€ (0.60£, 0.39$) click

I also like to hang my trousers and jeans, so I bought four of these trouser hangers. I'm always wondering, why are these not sold anywhere?!

Price: 0.99€ (0.80£, 0.99$) click

For a very cheap price, I also got those two glass candle holders. I am planing to use them for something else. Maybe for holding the brushes or pencils. They look too pretty to just be used for candles. A bargain, if I may say so.

Price: 0.99€ (1.25£, 0.99$) click

Last but not least, I smelled the candles at the end of the store and even though I already have too much of them, I couldn't pass on this one. It smells like ice cream! Such a yummy smell.

Price: 1.79€ (didn't find it online)

So that is my first ever haul. I hope I'll get the chance to write more of these and let me know if you even like reading such posts.
